Brown Sugar Meatloaf

My mom made this for me for the first time and I really liked it. It is MUCH sweeter than my original meatloaf recipe, here. My husband isn't a big fan of this one because he says it is TOO sweet, but I like sweet so I like it alot! This is a good variation to a traditional meat loaf recipe.

1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef {or turkey}
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup finely crushed saltine crackers
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 envelope onion soup mix
garlic to taste

Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease a 9x 5 loaf pan.
Mix brown sugar, ketchup, and 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce in a separate mixing bowl.
Pour half of the brown sugar and ketchup mix into the bottom of the loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, mix remaining ingredients and shape into a loaf. place on top of the brown sugar/ketchup mixture.
Pour remaining brown sugar mixture on top of the loaf and bake for 1 hour or until juices run clear.
