My dear friend, Carol, is famous for these brownies. They are dense, chewy and topped with a delicious chocolate frosting. What could go wrong?!
Ingredients
For the Brownie:
- 2 cups butter (I use salted, if you don't have salted then add 2 tsp salt when you add the flour), melted
- 4 cups sugar
- 8 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups of flour
For the Frosting:
- 4 Tbsp cocoa
- 8 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2/3 cup butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Stir together the melted butter and sugar.
- Add the eggs, cocoa, vanilla, flour (and salt if using).
- Mix well
- Pour into a greased 10x15 jelly roll pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
- let cool before frosting
Frosting
- Mix cocoa and powdered sugar together.
- Heat the milk and butter together (I do this in a glass measuring cup in the microwave)
- Add the vanilla to the milk/butter mixture and then beat it into the dry ingredients.
- Beat until nice and fluffy
