Frosted Brownies

 My dear friend, Carol, is famous for these brownies. They are dense, chewy and topped with a delicious chocolate frosting. What could go wrong?! 

Ingredients
For the Brownie:

  • 2 cups butter (I use salted, if you don't have salted then add 2 tsp salt when you add the flour), melted
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
For the Frosting:
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 8 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
Directions
  • Stir together the melted butter and sugar.
  • Add the eggs, cocoa, vanilla, flour (and salt if using).
  • Mix well
  • Pour into a greased 10x15 jelly roll pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
  • let cool before frosting
Frosting
  • Mix cocoa and powdered sugar together.
  • Heat the milk and butter together (I do this in a glass measuring cup in the microwave)
  • Add the vanilla to the milk/butter mixture and then beat it into the dry ingredients.
  • Beat until nice and fluffy
