My cousin put together an extended family cookbook and this came from one of her aunts. I made this for my mom's birthday one year and it got rave reviews (especially from my brother!) The only thing I would do different with this cake is either flour the bottom of the pan or line with parchment paper/foil to prevent sticking. This was such a fun cake and had so much flavor!
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 28 squares)
3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup butter or margarine melted
1 package cake mix (super moist preferred) along with required ingredients to make cake
vanilla glaze (Recipe below)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 pan.
Mix cracker crumbs, nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter and set aside. Make cake mix as directed on box. Pour 1/2 cake batter in pan then crumble 1/2 crumb mixture on top. Pour remaining cake mix then top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake about 45-50 minutes then drizzle with vanilla glaze.
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 Tbsp water
a few Tbsp butter
and a little vanilla
